Do you have other gift ideas? Leave us a comment at the end to share those with our JOYners, a community of us aiming to live our healthiest, most JOYful lives.
Gifts under $25
Are you looking for the perfect stocking present or simply don’t want to spend more?
A cookbook. You can never go wrong gifting a good cookbook to a person who loves to cook nourishing meals for themselves and their family. Opt for one that offers recipes full of whole foods rather than those made with packaged foods. That means avoid recipes with ready-made sauces or dressing, and instead find an ingredient list of real foods grown on Mother Earth.
Incense and incense holder. The smell of warming frankincense, calming lavender, or a new combination of aromatic frequencies can bring peace and a feeling of ‘home’ to any room. Combine that with a simple incense holder and you have yourself a very thoughtful present.
Thoughtful board or card games: I recently came across this card game called ‘Icebreaker Deeper Talk’. How great to have a fun evening while getting to know people on a deeper level by having more meaningful conversations. Helping those you love have more fun in their lives is an amazing gift, so don’t underestimate this one.
Inspirational daily flip calendar: Health-conscious people often look for proactive ways to remain optimistic about life and their ability to achieve their dreams. Gifting a calendar like this one is a great way to support them in their quest. This or anything else that will help them be JOYful will make a great Christmas present.
Gifts under $75
These gift ideas are perfect if you are looking for presents that go under the Christmas tree.
Small blenders: Most households have a blender that’s perfect for making soups and a large batch of summer cocktails. But a small household will also benefit from having a smaller blender. For example, it is just the right size for a single serving, nutritious, home-made smoothie. Various brands do a good job. As always, check product reviews to find the right one for your special someone.
Pressure cooker: I cooked healthy meals for a number of years before someone told me about the benefits of having a pressure cooker. The biggest one is that meals that would typically take more 45-60 minutes on the stove take half the time in the pressure cooker. I ended up with an ‘Instant Pot’ and have been very happy with it.
For a little extra add a new pressure cooker cookbook so that your recipient can start putting their new toy to good use.
Toxin-free bath and body products: Most of us don’t know that conventional body products (think shampoo, lotions, make-up, etc.) are full of chemicals that lower our body’s immune strength. Someone trying to live a healthier life will welcome 1) learning that piece of information and 2) getting a couple of body products from companies that exclusively create toxin-free products. Search online for ‘toxic free body products’ or ‘100% free of toxins body products’.
A massage gun: Besides feeling therapeutic, a massage gun can reduce muscle soreness, improve flexibility and help rid your body of toxins that would normally hurt your immune system.
The best gift cards
I love gifting experiences. New experiences create memories that make life feel fuller (in a good way) and make us feel happier.
Restaurant: Give the gift of health and JOY all in one by gifting a dinner at the newest organic farm-to-table restaurant in town. Search for ‘healthy food restaurants’ and look for places that emphasize, on their website, the use of fresh, organic, local foods.
Massage: Show someone how much you care about their physical wellbeing by gifting them a massage. Allowing yourself an hour away from the everyday hustle can be the best present a mom could get.
Sauna detox: Sweating is one of the best ways to release toxins out of our bodies. Plus, sitting in a hot sauna can be just what the doctor ordered on a cold winter day. Look for a sauna studio around town.
The ultimate gift
The pro blender: if you know that your special someone loves to cook healthy meals then a professional blender like a Vitamix might be the most special way to say ‘I love you’. You may want to test the waters before though as s/he may already have the perfect tool in her kitchen (starting at $280).
Create a romantic wellness get-away: Getting out of the house for an overnight trip could rekindle the flame or just soothe the soul. You could start the afternoon with a private sauna at a sauna studio. Then check into a hotel servicing health-conscious guests (like an Even hotel) or find a healing retreat just outside of town (if you are around Atlanta ‘Serenbe’ comes to mind).
After freshening up, head for dinner at a restaurant known for its first class healthy and tasty cuisine. Sleep in the next morning peppered with nothing but love for your special someone. Your total home-made romantic get-away could come together with as little as $350.
Sessions with a professional health coach: Give the gift of health and JOY.
